On the first use, we put batter in one side and turned it over to put batter in the other side. The unit immediately made a loud poof shooting out a small amount of smoke & sparks. It also destroyed a circuit breaker in the house. It took over an hour of holding and being rerouted to reach the appropriate customer service. They replaced the unit and said they would reimburse us for having the circuit breaker replaced. We tried the replacement unit once. It worked. We have not received reimbursement for replacing the circuit breaker. It has been several months so we are no longer expecting to be reimbursed. Note that this appliance is made in China.
